Highway Tyres
Tyres fitted on to vehicles used for transportation of people, goods, services and move on tarmac roads or other paved surfaces are called Highway Tyres. They are mainly categorized as Consumer (Passenger Car/ SUV /Minibus) and Commercial (Truck/ Bus/ Light Truck). Consumer tires are further categorized based on usage like All Season, Mud, Snow etc. while Commercial tyres based on application like Highway, Regional & Urban. For safety Consumer tires are governed by various safety certifications laid down by respective countries, unions like DOT by US, E-mark laid by European Union, GSO for Gulf Standard etc.
Light Truck Tyres
LT tyres are intended for use on vehicles designed for heavier hauling and towing duties. This includes medium-duty and heavy-duty pickup trucks with three-quarter-ton to 10-ton capacity, as well as select SUVs and full-size vans or Minibus. LT tyres achieve higher load ranges, usually have a deeper tread and thick rubber in the sidewall, under tread thus offering more protection. Plus, they are constructed with heavier plies and often have an extra steel belt.

Truck & Bus Tyres
Whether carrying cargo or passengers, trucks and buses are the lifeblood of the world’s economy. Commercial tyres tend to have more tread and are made of harder rubber, making them less likely to puncture but also make the drive less comfortable for the driver. They also cost a lot more than a standard tyre, in part because of their design and in part because of their size. Fleets today need more milage, greater retread ability, even-wear and less maintenance costs per kilometer from their tyres. Given the extreme demands of today’s transport industry, continuous innovation in tire technology is essential
